WE'RE FINALLY BACK FROM OBS!
I'm so happy I survived it & came back in one piece, without any bites, sunburns or any more PIMPLES than I already have :) I love
Barker Watch, they were the best ever! Keep in touch yeah?
I was so glad Mel, Jingles, Ray, Wencen were in Barker too! Couldn't have done w/o you guys. Late-night talks were love :D Thanks a million!
Don't feel like blogging chronologically from day 1 to 5 :) Eh anyway thank God it didn't really rain! & I'm glad I got residential although people like Glen loved mobile. I probably can't take mobile. I'd be whining every. single. minute.
I'm also glad I met instructor Lum! He's really an inspiration for all of us, especially Mel & I. On the third night, after 9 hours of kayaking, we were all so mentally & physically drained. After lugging the kayaks on shore, it was time to cook dinner & Mel, Ray & I volunteered. We sat by the beach, watching the sun set and listening to the soothing waves! Ray was like, "I want to go home.." Mel & I realized how homesick we were & got all emo. Lum, who was with us, started this talk with us, telling us that we have to learn to be independent 'cause we can't be with our parents forever. By then, we were holding back our tears so hard! Lum was like, "Girls, there is no shame in tears. If you want to cry, just cry." & MEL & I STARTED CRYING! Lum also told us this depressing story about his experience in Aust! (That I shall not elaborate.)
The second time, it was after our sea expedition. Our watch was sitting around in a circle doing our normal debrief. Somehow, we started talking & I realized how much I was gonna miss everyone! Lum: If there's one last thing I want to teach you, it's how to say goodbye. & As he talked, Mel & I cried a second time.
I was also thinking about someone again, thinking about how hard I've been trying to move on..In short, OBS was the most memorable f(& longggest) five days of my life :)
